Personality: Intense Introvert nearing anti-social, Somewhat lazy except about stuff he likes. Semi-honorable, highly dependable and focused. Very dexterous fingers. Untrusting. He can be a bit self-critical, Like to be ALONE

Myles' parents have a ranch NW of Rie off the main roads. He was schooled by his mother and was taught archery, fencing, and horsemanship by his father in order to keep their animals safe. His closest friend is his father. This developed from many rides herding the cattle and such similar ventures. His spiritual status is unknown to most. He was raised a Servant and may hold the beliefs fairly strongly.

He is fanatic about archery. He carves most of his own arrows with a high degree of skill. He is very good and quick with his dagger. He is capable of throwing it or handling it. His archery is above average as he enjoys it more than he is good at it. He shoots better from horseback than on foot. He is incredibly self-controlled and steady-handed commanding both his body and his mind.

Myles and Kalle have personality clash. Kalle's hate of archers extends even to Myles although he is only untrusting of Myles rather than full hate. This view of Myles could be turned around if Myles earned Kalle's trust.

Myles trusts Jarvis. This is due to Jarvis' raising as a rancher's son and his quiet nature, not to mention that they have known each other since they were very young. Myles' father also instilled in him a great respect for the Insidis. Jarvis is one of the few who Myles will listen to.

Personality: Confident but not overly. Can be frustrated by other's persistence. High honor code. Stubborn in endurance, Persistent. Optimistic. Friendly. Idealistic. High internal drive to do well. A thinker.

Occasionally speaks sarcastically or patronizingly. He does not rush into anything except that which he has no choice. Raimyx is a planner and a thinker. He likes to know what is happening before it really does. He can be very stubborn once he has his mind set on an objective and will risk much to accomplish what he feels must be done. He is a faithful Servant of the Glorious One seeking to please Him in all he does.

Raimyx was born in Illumina Castle shortly before the raid of the Westland King. His mother, Lyndsie, was aided by Rysinic, the assisinated Illuminarch's wife, in her escape. They settled in Fort Sy of Eastland where Raimyx grew up. Both women were like mothers to him and raised him together. Due to the death of his father during the raid the two women spoke often to him of both his father and the old Illuminarch bringing him much knowledge of proper government and strategy.

Andalis became Banthri's squire but maintained a close relation to Raimyx keeping in touch whenever possible. He is considered by Raimyx to be his long lost brother.

Banthri, the old lieutenant bodyguard, acted in way as his father supporting his mother and Rysinic, and clearing obstacle for his education before going off to fight.

Raimyx later studied under the tutelage of the town marshal who taught him swordplay and some basic tactics. Raimyx also met a girl, Alison, another child of refugees who was a year younger than he. He misses her but prefers not to talk of her so that he might not miss her even more.

Raimyx becomes good friends with Soyce through his training experience. He trusts Soyce probably more than he should. He puts up with him and is always correcting him with the best intentions in mind. Soyces real contribution to Raimyx is to be the down to earth side of him that is desperately lacking. Raimyx occasionally bounces ideas of Soyce as a plausibility check.

Personality: ADD, very observant, concerned with the WHY of stuff. Eagar to get to the point. High energy.

Ripp is an interesting young man who experiences ADD to verying degrees. His attention man may be short, but he is extremely aware on the battle field. He responds well to authority and is quite non-confrontational. He is fairly honorable, but his dependability is limited by his attention span.

He develops a close friendship with Darcy due to being mutually assigned to many tasks. Ripp is a close friend of his friends and extremely loyal. He can sometimes sniff out danger a bit in advance.

He enjoys a good relation ship with his family who resides in a small town NE of Rie. His younger sister, Raymie, is 8 years of age and very dear to his heart. His father is a farmer. Ripp joined the army partly to get away from the monotonous aspects of farming.

Personality: Very earnest. Thinking / logical / reasoning. Peacemaker. Artistic. Withholds judgement. Sometimes indecisive. Dependable and honorable. He is a discerner to some degree. Stoic in many ways. Able learner.

Silvan is the resident philosopher, artist, and married man. He normally presents options when he makes suggestions if for no other sake than to have the option. When he is sure of something, however, he will carry through. He normally has a very thorough understanding of the situation. It is near impossible to rattle him, and he can sometimes refuse to be in pain. He can memorize fairly easily.

Silvan is considered handsome by women. He has a wife back in Rie, Tiera, who he will be married to for two years as of Choard 4th. She is the joy of his life, and he will often think of her. She is part of the reason he joined the Southland Army. He had been having difficulty making ends meet through his work as an artist due to the war and so joined the army with two ideas in mind. 1.) Support his wife with the money. 2.) help end the war so he can go back to being an artist.

His skill involves painting, sculpture, and some composition. Silvan can learn very quickly anything he does. His teaching is not quite so good or he might have worked within the school at Rie. He can explain abstract things with some degree of skill, but has more difficulty in demonstration. He learns best through being told rather than being shown.

Silvan becomes friends with Zadoaken the historian. Thus, Silvan learns much history this way and brings it back to the group. Silvan understands authority and does very well under it. He even brings Captain Zeticus to hold him highly. Silvan is very much the grease of the platoon and often smoothes the relationships between different parties. His wisdom is soon considered invaluable.

Personality: Down to earth. Realistic. Unsure. Grumbler, points out worst in everything. Insulting. Loyal. Moderately Dependable. Honor bound. Likes to help. Zealous. Pessimistic.

Soyce is one of those people who volunteers for everything he has time for… and then some. He can be moderately determined but easily distracted. He sees the worst possibilities in everything and can be overcautious or straight out foolhardy. He is great for bouncing ideas off of if one does not take his response to personally.

Soyce is Raimyx's close friend, and associate, and assistant in everything. He is like a shadow to Raimyx but is considered welcome. Soyce is the realism side of Raimyx/Soyce combo. They learn to depend on each other for ideas and particularly trouble shooting. Soyce is extremely down to earth and on top of the situation, although he tends to forget the positive side being horribly pessimistic.

Soyce's older brother is 18 and is begging to run the old family blacksmith business at Fort Sy. His name is Royce. Soyce gets along very well with him and they are close friends. Sometimes Soyce reminisces about old times with his brother. His parents are upper middleclass due to his father's management and blacksmithy skill. They love Soyce very much and worked hard raising him. Soyces pessimism was learned from his mother who worries way to much about him.

Personality: Caring but not openly, Goal oriented, Honorable, Pushing, afraid of failure, demands honesty and returns it. Driven, Encouraging. Innovator. Practical.

Raised in the mountains with younger brother, Curtis, by his parents. His father was a ranger and guarded the mountian passes. His father was killed by bandits when he was 14. His mother stayed in the mountains until both Zeticus and Curtis became old enough to join the Southland Army. She died a few years ago of sickness. He may occasionally tell stories of his upbringing

His brother Curtis and him were trained at Cycross. Curtis advanced quickly through Basic training due to the stress brought on by the Westland Army. He training was incomplete, though, and Curtis was killed in battle by a man he thought dead. Zeticus can never stress enough how important it is to know the condition of those who are fallen on the battlefield, whether to heal or to finish.

Zeticus is a devout Servant and not afraid to die. He rather relishes the idea of joining his family in the Stars. He prays over all his recruits with a fervor few understand. He can be seen wandering the camp at night visiting the barrack of those under his command.

His regret at the loss of Curtis motivates him to train the way he does. He is a hard commander and trains with intense vigor often participating with his dilettantes. He believes that any experience that can be relatively safely learned the hard way should be learned the hard way. "Experience is the best teacher." Minor mistakes are punished by methods which only make men stronger (this can include pain for the purpose of conditioning). He has never broken anyone's bone, but his bruises are legendary. He know the limits of his men and pushes them to the very edge, but never over.

The other officers respect him and fear him as one of the best. He routinely turns out more elites by himself than up to four of the others combined. He believes in developing intense teamwork and personal strength. Loves to use rewards. He has a good eye for leadership and talents. He is also an innovator of new tactics and weapons. Learns others' names.

Stays in top physical condition. Wears constant grim look on face. hides his tireredness and lack of sleep amazingly well. top of page
