History:
The royal house of Necrontyr were the last to experience the entechment of what is presently known as the necrons. Though they may have aided and directed the various factions into accepting their metal entombment the house resisted undertaking the procedure. When at last the C’tan came for them they resisted, both household servants and the royal court attempted to first fight and then later flee.

They actually succeeded in getting off planet but were captured soon after and returned. The necrons were still zealous and began the entechment before the C’tan could arrive. One household servant, Carzotas, voluntarily was enteched and was programmed in the ways of the entombment. Carzotas was heavily involved in the entechment of the royal house and saw to it that it was done imperfectly thus preserving the individual memories of each.

He revealed himself to the royal family and his deed and was given mercy by the now powerful King. The Royal house abandoned Necrontyr before the C’tan arrived. They fled across the galaxy before finding a desolate wandering asteroid adrift in space, ”Chrontorus”. They built their tombs in hopes that they might rest and sleep while the C’tan spent their wrath looking for them and yet distracted by the growing war.

Asleep in their stasis tombs they waited millennia before being awaken by a human mining expedition which, needless to say, did not survive the encounter. They accessed the miner ship’s memory banks and caught up reasonably well on the present situation.

They raided lonely research stations for some times before discovering to their dismay that the C’tan were still in existance although highly depleted in number.

The royal house bears no love for the creations of the Old Ones nor do they bear any love for the other necrons enslaved by the C’tan. The goals are simple, exist, gather history, retain their memories, and destroy the C’tan by what ever means possible. Revenge is their ultimate goal and having accomplished that they know not what as their revenge seems even yet impossible to achieve.

My Stratgies:
Run destoyers behind warriors for cover and to pick off tanks with greater ease.
Run carzotas within the large pack of Warriors with gaze of flame.
Run Carzotas with veil of darkness and only 6 or 7 imortals to punish eneamy heavy support
Run flayed ones just ahead of Pariahs for a nasty combo particularly against grey knight armies
put monolith in reserves for a fun drop and shoot (and shoot and shoot).
Keep Spyders with warriors for help against characters.

Painting:
The whiteish color you see on the pariahs and immortals is actually a light blue (heaven's blue to be exact from the Delta dream coat line) This army was painted over seven months. It has black basecoat with the primary colors of gold and a metalic Amethyst I found. The under carriages tend to have a metalic real green. I used a black base coat on the weapons followed by white swirls then overcoated with a moist metalic blue to give the translucent look. All pieces are coated in final gloss to protect against rubing as you'll be moving them ... alot (This is a wonderfully mobile army). On average i spent 1 1/2 hours per warrior and up to 3-4 for the destroyer bodies and tomb spyders. The monolith took me almost 10 hours from start to finish. I take pride in my work and will be sorry to see them go.
